MAN AT THE MOSQUE

Man at the Mosque is my first painting exploring Islamic art and spiritual direction. It shows a man and a young girl walking hand in hand toward the masjid, choosing light and guidance while leaving fire behind them.

The illuminated masjid represents safety, refuge, and return. The word SAFE on the man’s garment reflects protection through faith and submission to Allah. The young girl’s clothing references the Trinidadian flag, honoring diasporic Muslim identity and the passing of faith across generations.

This piece is about trust, innocence, and the quiet act of walking toward Allah together.
